With the support and participation of all laureates,the first lustrum of Prix Voltaire International was a memorable event. In the afternoon specialists gathered to discuss the many faces of WATER under the title WET, DRY & DIRTY. Paul O’Callaghan introduced the subject supported by images from his wonderful Movie ‘OUR Blue World.

Under the guidance of Annelies Schenk the CEO’s of three water related start-ups (REDSTACK, INSTRACTION and SEA O2) discussed the business, challenges and opportunities in a talkshow with Paul O’Callaghan (Blue Tech Research), David Katz (The Plastic Bank) and Liza Faber (PureTerra Ventures). Photographer of the Nation, Ivy Njiokiktjien took us to places where we would be safer if the climate crisis would force us to leave.

The Award Ceremony diner took place in the evening. All laureates (Paul Polman, David Katz, Jennifer Holmgren and Peter Bakker) shared their vision on the 5 years ahead, left to meet the SDG’s. TV-Journalist and host Maaike Schoon invited them to join in a pannel discussion about the subject.

The evening ended by the 5th Prix Voltaire International award, presented by Minister of State and former Secretary General of Nato, Jaap de Hoop Scheffer to Chief Dadá Borari, the Brazilian ‘Voice of the Indigenous’ who risks his life and that of his people to fight deforestation through education and communication.
